Kyle Doerrler specializes in U.S. and international patent procurement across diverse patent portfolios. Kyle’s practice spans malware detection, encryption, network communications, video compression, database management, and UI/UX design. In particular, Kyle provides value by navigating subject matter eligibility rejections and distinguishing nuanced elements of software from prior art to maximize patentability coverage.
Kyle also has a demonstrated history of client advocacy. He has achieved full reversals in multiple hearings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and has worked on litigation including patent infringement, software trade secrets, and independent patent portfolio analysis.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Kyle had several experiences in software development for Fortune 100 companies. These roles enable him to connect with inventors and provide counseling that is in sync with business objectives.
Patents run in Kyle’s family with both of his parents having experience as Examiners for the United States Patent and Trademark Office and a sister who is an IP paralegal.
